Welcome to Friends Of Castleford Library (FOCAL) web site. We are a group of friendly people who are so passionate about our local library that we befriended it.

FOCAL was established in February 1998. A group of local people who use the library decided that such a valuable asset deserved to be promoted and supported.

FOCAL aims:-

  • Promote and raise the profile of Castleford Library
  • Organise activities and events of local and community interest
  • Attract new members and encourage all sections of the community to be represented
  • Campaign for a new library in Castleford

The new museum and library building (The Castleford Forum) opened On 9th December, 2013.

FOCAL members meet to discuss matters that affect the library. We hold meetings every two months at the library at 5.45pm. New members are always welcome, to get involved e-mail to contact.us.focal@gmail.com.
